At first, I knew nothing about Cardiomyopathy, what it was, or anything; all I knew was what my cardiologist told me. After suffering 2 heart attacks last October and spending several months of testing etc my diagnosis of Cardiomyopathy was confirmed. Recently I decided to raise awareness of my condition and give a bit of an explanation. Cardiomyopathy is a chronic disease of the heart muscle & there are also different types of it as well. I have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy with obstruction. The whole experience between my first heart attack and the diagnosis was scary for me & now my daily life has changed as my symptoms make it a little challenging. My symptoms include fatigue, shortness of breath, the bottom of my legs swollen i.e ankles & calves, and my heartbeat irregular. my condition is treated with pills & I try to lead as normal a life as I can.
The image below is a normal heart on the left & what my heart looks like on the right.

Recently I went for a treadmill test at my local hospital, I was connected to an ECG machine whilst made to walk on a treadmill whilst wearing a blood pressure cuff. This is a test to see how your heart functions when you exercise. Both my arms & legs get a little sore & I may not be as mobile as I was once before but I still play video games & there will be more gaming posts in the future. I just happen to be sorting things out in the background between posts so bear with me. I’m raising money for the British Heart Foundation next month by moving 26 minutes a day in October
