Gamers love Gaming whether it’s on their PC, Playstation, or Nintendo Switch & most of us like to read the latest game news or at least get to know what is coming out & when. Back in the day before the internet really took off, it was always from an Xbox-themed magazine for me. I still like to read gaming news when I can but I also want to see gameplay videos. So how do you add video game news to your blog?

Picture this you want to post about the latest Fifa game as you’re a big fan of them, where would you get that information? You could copy & paste from a game’s news website, save all the images etc but that’s plagiarism & that’s bad. These websites are run by big publishing companies & they’d not like it.
thankfully there’s a website that can give you all you need, the images, the information & contacts in the games industry & is called Games Press.
Register your blog
Register your blog to gain access to more content on Games Press, it’s especially handy if English isn’t your first language as there’s additional info available in French, German, Spanish etc. This also applies if you have a podcast or make your own gaming news video content. The good thing about WordPress is that you can include videos from multiple sources such as TikTok or YouTube as well as import your podcast to drive more traffic to your blog.
Backlinks
Create backlinks to games publishers, PR contacts and games developers as it’ll help get your blog discovered & help with SEO. Especially handy if you want to build trust in the Games industry. I don’t fully understand SEO myself but I do recommend using an SEO plugin to help with your blog.
Create Original Content
See this plagiarism thing I mentioned earlier, you might want to edit the game’s news releases so it’s not the same as everybody else’s online, also include original content of your own, your own take on games news per see. Is there a cool games shop near you? Go write about that. Know something cool about a games console? Write about that. For example, I have a Star Wars Xbox 360 that makes the R2-D2 beeping noises, I could write about that.
